The National Archives expresses its sincere condolences on the passing of Angelo Bissessarsingh, historian, author, storyteller, Hummingbird Medal Gold recipient, and friend of the archives.
By pioneering the Virtual Museum of Trinidad and Tobago on Facebook, Angelo defined his own rules of engagement for the teaching of history, and swiftly inspired and created a groundswell of public appreciation of our history, uniting us and bolstering our national identity.
The National Archives remains committed to keeping his legacy alive through access to his numerous books and newspaper columns, and to championing enlightenment and engagement of our history. May he rest in peace.
