On 9 June 2015, the National Archives of Trinidad and Tobago will join the rest of the world in commemorating International Archives Day. To mark this Day, the National Archives will mount an in-house exhibition of a sample of archival records that comprise the documentary heritage of Trinidad and Tobago from 9 - 12 June 2015 at its office on St. Vincent Street.
International Archives Day is an initiative of the International Council on Archives (ICA), an international organization which is dedicated to the effective management of records and the preservation, care and use of the world's archival heritage through its representation of records and archive professionals across the globe. ICA works in close collaboration with UNESCO and other organizations. Its work is guided by the Universal Declaration on Archives, adopted by the General Assembly of the ICA in 2010 and endorsed by the 36th session of the General Conference of UNESCO.
The National Archives of Trinidad and Tobago is a member of the Caribbean branch of ICA - CARBICA.
