The National Archives of Trinidad and Tobago, a division of the Ministry of National Diversity and Social Integration, formally opened its new Conservation Wing on Friday 14th August, 2015 at its premises 105 St. Vincent Street, Port of Spain. It was formally opened by Dr. the Honourable Rodger Samuel, Minister of National Diversity and Social Integration.
The regular conservation services offered by the National Archives, including paper conservation and restoration, and digitization of paper and audiovisual records, will now be housed under one roof in the new and improved facility.
The National Archives which was established in 1960, has as its mission the acquisition, preservation and provision of public access to the documentary heritage of the nation and the provision of guidance on the management of government records throughout the public service.
